Pain Relief Therapies

Ouch!! Want to get rid of that pain quickly?  Stress and pain can significantly reduce your quality of life. When you hold tension in your body it can lead to pain and restricted movement. Pain affects how you move through your daily routine at home and at work, how you sleep, and even how you think and feel about your life. Here are the therapies that will quickly and effectively reduce or alleviate your aches and pains.

bowen therapyNST (Neuro Structural Integration Technique) is an advanced form of Bowen Therapy which is gentle, profoundly relaxing and quickly realigns and rebalances  the body. Consisting of rolling movements over specific points on the body, it releases restrictions and toxins to   quickly and effectively restore the flow of energy and movement back into the muscles, joints and systems.

There are short ‘waiting periods’ between some moves to allow the brain time to respond with an instruction to release the tension in that area. Most clients relax very deeply, and report the positive effects last much longer than a regular massage.

What conditions can be treated? When will I notice a change? Most people notice an improvement in movement and reduction in pain on their first visit. Common problems that can usually be resolved within 3 or 4 visits include backaches, sciatica, neck-pain, sore shoulders and hips, leg/knee/ankle and footpain. Tennis elbow, sore wrists eg: carpal tunnel syndrome, overuse syndrome. Headaches, TMJ & jawpain, tinnitus, middle ear problems/dizziness. Digestive and period problems. And many other conditions. To improve and maintain movement, simple exercises and stretches are often given to clients to do at home to support their results.

Much like maintaining your car, your body needs some regular maintenance and TLC to keep it ticking along smoothly. So, some clients may come once a month “just because it  feels so relaxing“, others come every couple of months because they realise their body is getting tense or they feel pain from repetitive movements/heavy workloads/intense sporting activities. Some just come a few times a year, or when they notice they are feeling stressed or tight. It is entirely up to you and your body. You certainly don’t need to be here every week. It is about listening to your body. Most people comment that the Bowen/NST’s effect lasts longer than a massage, and is far more relaxing.
