General Dru Yoga Classes

Tuesdays: Venue: Corlette Community Hall, 49 Sandy Point Road, Corlette

Morning: 9.00-10.15am General Dru class $15 Meet for coffee and chat at Little Nel’s Cafe, 3 Government Road afterwards)     

Afternoon: 2.00 – 3.00pm   Carers Yoga class $10 (for family carers, not paid professionals) 

Tuesdays: Me Time for Mums Yoga” New Class 11.30am – 12.45pm  at Baylife Church Hall, 4236 Nelson Bay Rd, Anna Bay $15, with Childcare $5 in creche & playground just metres away from yoga space.

Wednesdays:   Morning: 10.00am – 11.15am (gather for coffee and chat at Pasta Di Porto Cafe, Anna Bay afterwards.   Evening: 6.30pm -7.45pm $15 per class Venue: Yogasphere 18 Melaleuca drive, One Mile Beach. (Just 6 minutes from Nelson Bay top roundabout)

Dru Yoga is a beautiful flowing and gentle style of yoga, suitable for every body! Often called ‘Yoga of the Heart’ because of the way it can soften and transform how you feel about yourself and how you engage with other people in  your life.

The movements can all be modified to suit anyone with injuries, recovering from surgery (once you have healed), or if you are feeling a bit ‘old and creaky’, or anxious, stressed and tight. Most people nowadays have a ‘couple of niggles’ somewhere in their body, and they all find they can easily do this yoga and feel great. You are encouraged to go along at your own pace and not feel pressured to do more than your body can manage. It is not competitive!

People notice changes within their body in a short time – aches and pains diminish, flexibility and balance increases, strength and stamina improve, sleep improves, and you feel much calmer and clearer. You are often kinder to yourself and others as you feel so much better within yourself from doing the nourishing poses and learning simple ways of looking at aspects of life. Students often comment that they feel they can take what they have learnt in yoga class off the mat and out into their everyday life.

Each class has an activation to warm up your muscles and joints. We then do stretches, yoga sequences and some calming breathing and deep relaxation. Everyone loves how they feel at the end of class because they are so calm and refreshed.

Me Time For Mums Yoga is a class for busy mums of little ones. So if you are feeling overwhelmed, exhausted and stressed (or don’t want to feel that way!) It is the perfect way for you to take some precious time out for you to relax your body, calm your mind, reduce anxiety, tune into yourself and revitalise your energy so you can keep on being an amazing mother, dealing with everything that comes your way, in a more calm and relaxed manner. Your little ones will be well cared for in a purpose-designed childcare facility and playground just  a few meters away. Dates: Begins Tuesday May 2, 11.30am-12.45pm. Bookings essential.

Reclaim Your Strength and Balance. A 7 week course to develop trust in your body to support you by building flexibility, strength, balance & awareness of your posture, and how you move and hold your body. Simple, easy-to-do stretches and movements that you can continue to do at home. The Autumn Retreat in Port Stephens is a wonderful way to tune in to the Vibrant Energy of Autumn – the Secrets of Letting Go. We can learn many powerful lessons from nature once we take the time to observe and apply them into our lives.

We do some lovely, flowing sequences to incorporate that idea into our lives, as well as stretches and soothing yoga poses, calming breath work and deep blissful relaxations. We also do some very gentle body therapy with a partner which is always  a huge hit, (and often one of the favourite parts) as people love being nurtured in a safe space. You leave feeling transformed! From being tired and stressed out to calm, clear, relaxed, happy and peaceful.

I also provide a beautiful, healthy and very yum afternoon tea – made with lots of love and care! Let me know of any dietary requirements.

Please note: the yoga is suitable for all levels, and beginners are very welcome! Poses can all be modified to suit you.

Please bring your own yoga mat, water bottle, cushion, sarong/throw/blanket for the relaxations.

Canberra CIT Skills For Carers   Massage & Relaxation Retreat,  JUNE 2017.

Mindfulness, Meditation and Relaxation Course Dates to be confirmed. Runs over 4 weeks from 7.00-9.00pm. Cost is $130  includes Mindfulness relaxation CD & Supper. A very practical approach that covers many ways of developing and  integrating mindfulness and relaxation into your busy life!

School Stress Management Programs If you would like to organise a Stress Management Program for your school (Either for students or staff! or both) please contact me for more details so we can design a program to suit your specific needs. In 2012, 2013, 2014 we ran a very successful program for Grade 11 & 12 students combining yoga, breathing, positive mindset and thinking strategies to give them techniques for self managing their anxiety and stress – invaluable skills for life! And in 2014 the program  continued with nearly double the number of students participating, and loving it! They love the stretching and movement, and it is amazing how quickly they all can now drop down into that quiet, calm place within. The relaxation is the favourite part for all of them.

It is concerning to realise how stressed and anxious some kids can be,  and great to also realise that some students have come to the course because they want to know how to relax and take care of themselves so that they don’t get into the anxiety cycle as an adult. The yoga is working well for all of them.

Morning/Afternoon Retreats: (see info above) for those who want a longer session to really  enjoy a good stretch and time to tune in to their body, relax their mind and just be! Themed sessions held every 6 weeks or so on the weekend. You can also arrange one for your own group of friends, a nurturing pre-wedding celebration or“hen’s night”, a lovely farewell for a friend or birthday celebration with a difference. Delicious refreshments  provided!

All Day Yoga Retreats: At last it is here!…a lovely  day retreat of flowing Dru Yoga, relaxations, partner therapies, fun & laughter, inner peace & harmony. Afternoon tea included. In keeping with the yogic way of sharing and giving, please bring a small plate of simple, delicious, vegetarian food to share for lunch. And bring a friend to share it with! Next weekend retreat is planned for a weekend (Fri & Sat nights) Next one   The last  Beach Retreat for Women  was full, and a wonderful experience in relaxation and letting go of stress for everyone.The fabulous company and stunning scenery and venue were added bonuses!!
